Boys' 3rd Birthday!

I know I've said this every year so far and will probably continue to say it...

I can't believe the boys are 3 (of course, last year it was 2 and then 1 before that).

As if I don't know that they get older every day. And even though there are still days that seem like years, time flies by. Jack and I frequently talk about how when we were kids, time seemed to go by SO slowly. It really seemed like FOREVER until Christmas or your birthday, etc. Now, it's like you blink and you've missed it all.

Here's one of my favorite pictures of the boys when they were about 2 1/2 months old...

And here they are now...

Such big boys.

Tears.

Now, on to the birthday festivities...

We started off their birthday that morning with presents from Spiderman, Batman and Ironman. They "came to our house during the night" and left all of these cool presents for Jacob & Luke.

Luke's presents...

Jacob's presents...
I was so excited to give the boys the super-cute "L" and "J" superhero capes for their birthday but, of course, they refuse the wear them. They only want to wear the pink Fuze capes that I got for free from work!! I can't believe it - those may have to "mysteriously" disappear.

The Fuze capes...

We decided to take the boys to Chuck E Cheese for the first time for lunch on their birthday. My parents and grandmother met us because my grandmother wasn't going to be able to come to their party that night. It was the perfect time to go because there was NO ONE there. This will definitely be a new birthday tradition.

Jacob's favorite thing was putting the coins in the games. He didn't really care what the games did.

Luke working on his aim - D & Grandaddy are so proud.

Going down the slide is nowhere near as much fun as going up.

Luke "mushing" the groundhogs.

The boys saying "bye-bye" to Grandmother and thanking her for their cute sun chairs.
The cute sun chairs...
They were most excited about the fans.

That night, we had a cookout, birthday cake and fireworks with some of our family at our house.

The boys LOVED their Spiderman cake!

Jacob was so excited when everyone was singing, "Happy Birthday". He is quite the singer himself so he joined in and sang, "Happy Birthday" to himself.

Someone taught Jacob to hold the hose together and it would stop the water. Now that's all he does when we turn the sprinkler on!

Luke's favorite toy these days is his jump rope. The scary thing is, he likes to put it around your (mainly Jacob's) neck and pretend that he's "walking the dog". Obviously, this is probably not the safest activity so we have to keep the jump rope hidden most of the time.

The boys had so much fun with their cousin, Rachel!

And with Uncle Jeffrey (aka Batman).

The boys tackling Uncle Jeffrey.

Luke with his new gun from Bunny and Grandaddy.

Luke shooting Uncle Jeffrey with his new gun.

The boys both shooting Uncle Jeffrey on the playset.
D & Grandaddy - probably discussing hunting.

Daddy & Luke - how cute!

We were planning on all going to see a big fireworks show but we were all tired so luckily Bunny brought sparklers!

Thanks to our wonderful family for sharing this special day with us! We love you all!
