2-year Stats...

Yes, the boys had their 2-year check-up with the Pedi on Monday. I always try to make their Pedi appointments first thing in the morning and usually for well-checks that's not a problem BUT we had to reschedule our original 9AM appointment for our cruise and ended up with the dreaded 3PM appointment. YUK! Everyone even took a great nap but apparently Nemo can only occupy a 2-year-old for so long. Needless to say, GeeGee and I needed a cocktail after that appointment was finally over at about 5PM. Here are the stats...

Jacob
Height: 35 1/2 in. (75%)
Weight: 29lbs, 4 oz (60%)

Luke
Height: 34 1/2 in. (50%)
Weight: 33lbs, 4oz (95%)

Now, to be shallow for a moment, how is it possible that both of my children are on the short side? Have you seen my 6'5" husband and his size 15 shoe? Obviously I will love them even if they are Tate-size but I'm just having a bit of shock. Neely says usually you can double a child's height at 2 and that will be about their adult height BUT that's not always the case if you have a child that's a late-bloomer. I'll keep my fingers crossed for late bloomers. What I really think is interesting is that Luke is still an inch shorter than Jacob but four pounds heavier than he is!

Luke passed the rest of this appointment with flying colors and only one comment about his "wee-wee". Jacob, bless his heart, is just still having some problems. He continues to see his speech therapist with ECI once a week but we really haven't seen too much improvement with his speech. He says "uh-oh" and "please" pretty regularly but not much else on a consistent basis. So, Neely suggested we have a private speech therapy evaluation which we will be doing this Tuesday at Our Children's House.

Jacob has also continued to have tummy troubles which we thought were caused by him being Lactose Intolerant but apparently not. Neely thinks he may be allergic to dairy so we're trying him on a dairy-free diet for about a week to see if that makes a difference. This is pretty much a nightmare because about 75% of Jacob's calories come from MILK. Not just dairy products but actual milk. So, of course, just switch to soy milk, right? WRONG! We have tried every flavor of soy milk and rice milk and coconut milk yogurt and Jacob is not havin it! So, now we're just trying no milk at all which is also terrible because pretty much the only other thing they drink is water. My mom found these fruit/veggie juices that, although they are still juice, at least they have a full serving of veggies and fruit which makes me feel a little better about them. I mean, do you know how many things have some sort of dairy in them? Trust me, it's A LOT. So, please say a little prayer for Jacob and for his mommy and daddy who don't like seeing him so miserable.

We haven't taken too many pictures since the boys' b-day but here are a few from this week...

We found this precious little park on our way to Target yesterday. Pretty easy manage with one adult and great play stuff for toddlers.

Just had to include this picture of Luke with the popsicles - so Luke!
