Before I had the babies my OB kept telling me that preemies will go one step forward and then three steps back. Fortunately, we haven't really had any "steps back" with the boys...until yesterday. I mentioned that Jacob had been having some problems spitting up and yesterday it got significantly worse. He was not keeping really anything down and was getting "dusky" around his mouth when he was spitting up. So, long story short, Jacob had to be transferred back to the NICU yesterday. Yes, it's a terrible, awful, horrific feeling to have your babies in the NICU when they're born but it's even worse to have to take them back there after they've been doing so well. They stopped all food for Jacob and have him on IV fluids and are running just about every test imaginable to figure out what's going on. So far everything has come back completely normal so we're thankful for that but obviously want to find out what's causing his problems. Please pray for Jacob and the doctors and nurses caring for him in the NICU. We will keep you posted!
Obviously I can't write something about Jacob without mentioning Luke...he continues to sail along like a champ. He gained a whopping 86 grams yesterday so he's obviously being well fed!!
